Mission The mission of the Southside Missionary Baptist Church Inc. Mother Ministry is to provide spiritual guidance and counseling to anyone in need of assistance within the church and community.
Origin
During the pastoral era of the late Rev. Isaac Lacy, he saw a need for a mother ministry. With this idea in mind, he asked the late Mother Lorene Blunt to organize a mother's board. Mother Blunt chose the following Christian mothers to assist her with the pastor's request: Bobbie Hill, Effie Holloway, Carolyn Hawthorne, Gertrude Murray, Annie B. Jordan, Magnolia Andrews, Dora Buckner, Roberta Dent, Sallie Doss, Lillian Henderson, Bessie Jones, Willie Henley, Lillie Pearl Lacy, Alberta Stewart, Luberta Manning, Gertrude Richardson, Lula Dillard, Rosie Shields, Little Meadows, and Annie Bell Jones.
Communion
For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, whch is broken for you: this do in remembrance fo me. I Corinthians 11:23-24
The preparation of communion is the most rewarding duty delegated to the mother ministry. As often as the mother ministry prepare communion, it is done in remembrance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all he has done for us.
